Maybe not…but maybe there’s life on other planets?

Pablo got a Webkinz brown dog for an early birthday present from his aunt in Australia.

You take care of these stuffed animals on-line by feeding, playing and talking with them at the website. It’s a little like a Tamagotchi.

When you sign up for your Webkinz account, the first thing you have to do
is name your pet.

Jefe: “What should we call this cute little brown dog?”

Pablo: “Zekken.”

Jefe: “OK…”

Pablo leans towards the consonant heavy, guttural, almost Germanic sounding
made up words whilst at play.

Jefe: “Look at him. He’s a cute brown dog. Pet him. What do you think we should
call him?”

Pablo: “Maybe, Cock?”

Jefe:  “Um, maybe not.”

(I don’t know why he said Cock. He probably meant Koch.)

Pablo: “Say.”

Doodles: “Say Nothing.”

Pablo: “Palm Sunday!”

Jefe: “What? Timely, but why?”

Pablo: “Lion Tail…Chicken…”

Doodles: “Fish!”

Jefe: “Hey guys, about not other animal names, let’s look at this dog.

What does he look like to you?”

Pablo: “Sagan!”

Jefe: “Sagan? Where did you get that…I like it, okay, Sagan it is.”

Sagan had sushi for his first meal.

I also have no idea where Sagan came from but it’s kinda fitting.

There’s a bit of the Cabbage Patch doll to this, too, with the adoption papers you print:

Ahh, you have now entered the wonderful world of Webkinz. Enjoy the one you have while you can. They seem to multiply; before you know it you will have a house full.

I think you should write a book full of Pablo and Doodle’s adventures. I am crackin’ up. Where do they get this?? (Probably from you, eh?) Thanks for making my work day a little brighter!

  3. Jodi is right – don’t get them wet or feed them after midnight. We have (no exaggeration) more than 30 in our house right now. Let us know Paul’s username – his cousins can send him things and play together.

It wore me out watching the boys run in circles. Oh, to have that kind of energy again!

I’m laughing my head off, reading this post, while Mike is doing dishes, and he keeps asking, “what, what?” I’m so glad I found your blog! I was just thinking the other day that no one should have a blog more than you! We’ve been doing drive-bys, and Bennett keeps asking when will we have another(?) playdate with [Pablo] and [Doodles]. I’m excited to sign up for your RSS feed.

    • I appreciate it. It helps to keep it up when you know people are reading and enjoying. And yes, let’s have that playdate soon. What’re your Fridays like? Those seem to work for Steve, too.
