“Art of the Book Club” press release

Magers and Quinn Booksellers is very excited to be participating in the Soap Factory’s upcoming exhibit Common Room. During the month long exhibit, M+Q will co-host both the wildly popular Books and Bars Book Club and a publication party for Granta Magazine at the gallery.

Curated by Andy Sturdevant and Sergio Vucci, Common Room will be a temporary curated gathering space within The Soap Factory to facilitate interactivity and the blurring of the boundaries between curators, performers and audience, all within in a casual, living room-esque environment. Common Room will be host to a series of events and programming exploring community and interaction. These events will include film screenings and discussions, game night, readings, pot lucks, karaoke, music events and much, much more.

The Soap Factory is located at 518 2nd St. SE in Minneapolis – between St. Anthony Main and the U of M campus.

Magers and Quinn Booksellers and the Soap Factory present the Books and Bars Book Club. This month the book club discusses The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Join us at The Soap Factory for a discussion of Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife. M+Q’s Jay D. Peterson and the West Bank Social Center’s Miranda Trimmier will be curating a number of large group literary games and activities before and after the discussion. Jeff Kamin – comedian and improv artist – will lead the book discussion, per usual.

This event is part of Common Room – a temporary curated gathering space within The Soap Factory designed to facilitate interactivity and the blurring of the boundaries between curators, performers and audience, all within in a casual, living room-esque environment.
