… you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.”
– Ferris Bueller
John Hughes died of a heart attack at the age of 59. The writer/director/producer helped defined my high school years.
The man helped define an era. It’s ironic we just had our reunion this week as he was such a part of what we emulated/learned from/could relate to. More to blog later as this puts a sad final note on my reunion piece in progress.
John Hughes’ film fest at our place sometime soon.
He wrote and/or directed these greats: Mr. Mom, Vacation, 16 Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Some Kind of Wonderful, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, She’s Having a Baby, The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck and Christmas Vacation – and that’s just 1983-1989 pre-Home Alone.
Danke schoen John Hughes and rest in peace – from a Mr. Mom
And this is not all Hughes, but really celebrates him so well.
